Sanana Honey is a local brand, type of honey produced by forest bees which well known in the Sula Islands, North Maluku. The Islands have potential to be developed as producer quality honey. At this time there has been no scientific report regarding types and characteristics bee species from Islands. This study aims identify honey-producing applying LCO gene DNA barcode. methods used used: 1) extraction body tissues using Miniprep Kit procedure (Zymo Research, D6016); 2). amplification PCR with TOYOBO KOD FX Neo (KFX-201); 3) bidirectional sequencing process (Bi-directional sequencing). results showed that specimen was successfully amplified an amplicon size 677 bp. Furthermore, BLASTN analysis revealed sequence 97.78% similarity Apis cerana mitochondria complete genome country Russia, but phylogenetically different between two.
